Hidden Gem Restaurants in Kamakura

Food

Just an hour from Tokyo Station and a 10-minute walk from Kamakura Station, Sabo SORAHANA is a hidden gem located right by the Enoden “Wadazuka” Station.

As you walk through the lush greenery covering the entrance, you’ll discover a secluded spot that feels like a true hidden getaway. The restaurant offers a serene ambiance with large windows overlooking a beautifully maintained garden, perfect for enjoying lunch or a relaxing café break.

Since I don’t drink alcohol, I mentioned this when making my reservation, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate me with an alcohol-free menu. Their attention to detail and warm hospitality made the experience even more enjoyable.

For dessert, you can choose from a variety of options. I tried the hojicha ice cream sandwiched between crisp monaka wafers and a smooth matcha pudding. Both were absolutely delightful, showcasing the delicate flavors of Japanese sweets.

Stepping away from the hustle and bustle of central Kamakura, this peaceful and elegant spot allowed us to enjoy a truly special lunch. We felt so lucky to discover this charming hidden restaurant.

If you’re looking for a quiet retreat in Kamakura, Sabo SORAHANA is a must-visit. Don’t miss it!
