【Shrine】Enkiri Enoki(Cutting Bad Ties)

Shrine

Enkiri Enoki” is located about 30 minutes by subway from Tokyo Station and is famous as a shrine for severing bad relationships.
Enkiri Enoki” is a common name for this small shrine, which is officially called ”Dairoku Tenjinsha.

History and Origin

Enkiri-enoki has been enshrined since the Edo period (1603-1868). According to legend, if one wanted to break off a bad relationship or to abstain from alcohol, he or she could drink an infusion of the tree’s bark to achieve success. In recent years, the shrine has attracted many worshippers from all over the country, not only to pray for the severance of bad relationships, but also to pray for good marriages and for the severance of ties with illnesses.

Of course, you can visit the shrine as you would a typical shrine, but what makes this one unique is the “breakup” of the relationship.
Enkiri means severing ties with bad karma, and even today, people from all over the country visit the shrine to break off ties with various people who wish to quit smoking, abstain from alcohol, etc., as well as those who have problems with interpersonal relationships, such as male-female relationships and relationships with others.

method

Purchase an ema (Prayer Plaque) for ¥1,000, which is placed in the precincts of the shrine. There is a stand to write on the Prayer Plaque, so write down the fate you wish to sever or the fate you wish to bring in and dedicate it.

Please cover the written surface with the sticker provided.
There is no need to worry about information leakage.

To make a votive offering, hang ema (Prayer Plaque) together with many other ema (Prayer Plaque) in the precincts of the shrine where they are hung.

I have asked for this shrine in the past and was able to break off bad relationships with three people.
It is a very reliable shrine!

There was a gacha (capsule toy machine) outside the precinct, so I tried it.
This is entertainment that has nothing to do with EnkiriEnoki, but I will give it a try.

It contained a fortune and marbles.
The omikuji had something very moving written on it….

If you have a relationship, greed, disease, etc. that you would like to cut, please visit the temple.
In recent years, it has been worshiped as a place that “cuts off bad relationships but brings good ones together,” so please ask the shrine to bring good relationships together as well.
